In a statement, the BBC said the Strictly Come Dancing pair were now self-isolating separately and will miss next week’s live show. It is hoped they can return the following week to continue with the competition.

It comes as concerns were raised about unvaccinated professional dancers on the show, but it hasn’t been revealed which dancers these are.

Former star of the hit dance show James Jordan called for the dancers to be sacked over reports three professionals have refused the Covid jab.

The BBC previously denied claims that the three dancers reportedly stated they would rather quit the show rather than get vaccinated.

Tom and Amy were the first to perform in yesterday’s first live show, where they received positive feedback from the judges.
