Strictlys Janette on preparing for moments we all dread with husband Aljaz
Janette Manrara explains her baby is a little unwell
Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara revealed to her Instagram followers that she and husband Aljaz Skorjanec took part in a baby and toddler first aid lesson together.
Clips showed Aljza and Janette practising with model babies and learning how to put one another in the recovery position ahead of Lyra’s birth.
Informing her viewers of what they had been up to, she captioned the post: “We had an amazing first aid lesson today w/ Sian from @daisyfirstaidstockport (@daisyfirstaid).
“Such an informative session! @aljazskorjanec felt that it was important to be prepared for those moments that we all dread, but need to be ready for.
“Knowing what to do in case of an emergency could mean the difference between saving Lyra’s life or not.

“We jumped at the idea of knowing there was something we could do as parents to help. They have group lessons and private lessons as well, and Sian is an absolute expert in her field.
“As parents, just knowing what to expect and what we could do, already helps our anxiety levels drop. Aljaz and I cannot recommend this enough.” (sic)
Janette’s followers were in full support of their decision as user @parsons2294 commented: “I think Paediatric First Aid is so important when you have children/babies. Slightly different pressure/technique for children..babies and adults.”
@paulinemfranklin added: “An essential skill. Everyone should learn how to do CPR. If my husband had not known how to do it I would have died one year ago today. You don’t need to know it until it happens you are suddenly in that situation.”
@annita_haralambous_eftekhar said: “All new parents should do that and not only. This is a skill that it should be taught at schools/colleges/universities!”

Before Lyra was born, Janette had already praised and branded Aljaz for being a “complete super dad”.
