Spoilers: Ben makes a major confession to Callum in huge EastEnders development
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has been struggling greatly with his additional hearing loss in EastEnders, but boyfriend Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) has been at his side every step of the way — something which Ben has thus far taken for granted, but in the coming episodes he realises just how committed his beau is, and thus makes a shocking admission.
Ben has been struggling to come to terms with the additional hearing loss he’s experiencing since the boat crash, where — during an altercation with Keanu (Danny Walters) — he sustained a head injury while underwater.
In typical Ben fashion, he’s been lashing out at all those around him, and recent scenes saw the young man argue with Callum after a deal with Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher) went belly-up.
In the scenes that followed, the Mitchell lad tried to steal a car from a punter in The Prince Albert, but ended up getting arrested instead.
With Ben in police custody, Callum — who wants to join the police — found himself questioning whether he and Ben could really make things work, but when Ben apologised profusely for his actions and broke down, Callum realised that his love for his man is stronger than any obstacle, and therefore he resolved to stand by him.
In the coming episodes, Callum continues to support Ben — something which doesn’t go unnoticed by Ben — and therefore, Ben admits that he loves him.
How will Callum react?
EastEnders continues Monday 30 March at 8pm on BBC One.
