ITVs Im A Celeb castle looks like war zone amid fears of further delays

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! could be set for further delays after Storm Arwen hit and forced contestants to leave Gwrych castle.

According to The Sun, the weekend storm left the ITV set “looking like a war zone” and the producers have since been busy working to get it back up to scratch to resume the show.

A source also told the publication: “The nightmare caused by Storm Arwen is never ending.

“Bosses are working around the clock to get the show back on air — but with more storms forecast for the coming days, the morale is low.”

New photos show the set looking dire as the studio tents have broken down and ripped apart.

A crane has also been spotted on the Welsh property to aid repair efforts in order to ensure the show comes back on screens following demand.

While the programme is said to be returning this evening, 29 November, ITV bosses are reportedly worried they'll have to remove the stars from camp for a second time as a 700-mile Arctic weather front is set to sweep over the area in the following days.

This week, the Met Office warned: “Cold and frosty at first. Remaining largely dry with occasional sunny spells in the east. However, thickening cloud could bring the odd spot of rain further west. Still rather cold for most but turning milder in the far west.”

It added: “Increasingly cloudy overnight with outbreaks of light rain or drizzle spreading south as it also turns breezy. Feeling chilly under early cloud breaks, but turning milder than of late.”

Looking from Tuesday onwards, it continued: “Remaining windy and cloudy through Tuesday. The cloud thick enough for further patchy rain at times, this turning heavier and more persistent in the evening. Feeling milder than recent days.

“Blustery showers on Wednesday, and colder again. Drier, brighter and less windy on Thursday before a band of rain and snow sweeps through overnight into Friday with further strong winds.”

Storm Arwen caused "technical difficulties" on the Welsh setting, which left producers no choice but air a pre-recorded episode for the first time in the show's history on Friday.

Issuing an official statement, ITV then confirmed that both Saturday 27 November and Sunday 28 November episodes would be replaced by compilation shows voiced by hosts Ant and Dec.

An I'm A Celebrity spokesperson told OK! at the time: "Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
