Corrie's Joe Duttine and Sally Carman get engaged after coronavirus shutdown

Coronation Street’s Joe Duttine and Sally Carman have announced they’ve got engaged during coronavirus self-isolation.

The pair, who play Tim Metcalfe and Abi Franklin on the soap, posted a photo of them toasting their happy news with the stunning emerald ring clear to see.

Joe wrote alongside the picture: ‘She said yes everyone, convid 19 can f**k off…’

‘Convid, covid, whuteva (sic),’ he later added, noticing his mistake.

Sally simply wrote: ‘I did’, alongside a retweet of the picture.

Congratulations you two! Some happy news as everything gets shut down to due coronavirus is always appreciated.

The pair were first connected back in 2018, but their characters rarely share any screen time.

On the show, Joe’s character Tim is married to Sally Metcalfe – who is played by Sally Dynevor, whose real-life husband is called Tim.

Nothing like a little bit of confusion to add to the mix!

The couples’ happy news comes just days after Coronation Street was shut down to prevent the spread of coronavirus on set.

Production halt when into effect from Monday until further notice with the news being shared in a statement released by ITV.

On the plus side, at least the pair now have plenty of time to start planning the wedding as they self-isolate!
