All Creatures Great and Small tease Christmas special as James misses birth

All Creatures Great and Small Christmas teaser

All Creatures Great and Small teased what fans can expect for the upcoming Christmas special and James Herriot (played by Nicholas Ralph) could miss the birth of his first child.

As the finale episode came to an end, the words “Come This Christmas” popped up on the screen.

James is seen saluting during his training and is soon on the phone to Helen Herriot (Rachel Shenton) where he tells her: “They are transferring me to start bomber training.”

Worried, Helen asked: “So when you finish your training you will be flying over there?”

A conversation between Helen and Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) saw Helen admit that she isn’t ready for her baby, to which Mrs Hall advised that no new mother is.

As the members of Skeldale house prepare for Christmas and a birth, Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West) noted: “If worst came to worst I would be on hand to step in.”

However, Helen immediately quipped: “No, no, no, absolutely not,” to which Mrs Hall agreed: “Not one of your best ideas.”

James was seen asking his commander: “My wife, she is pregnant and I wondered if I could go back?” to which he was immediately denied.

Before the teaser ended with Helen telling Mrs Hall, Siegfried and Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose) that her labour had started.
