Carson Daly Reveals the Inspiration Behind Newborn Daughter Goldie’s Name

Back to his roots. Carson Daly and his wife, Siri Daly (née Pinter), chose their newborn daughter Goldie’s name because of its ancestral tie to the TV host.

“In this time that we’ve had quarantined, a lot of time on our hands with our families, I just got the results of my Ancestry DNA kit that my sister got me for Christmas back not long ago,” the Voice host, 46, said on the Today show on Friday, March 27. “And it confirmed my 98 percent Irishness.”

Carson explained that he began browsing Irish names but wasn’t able to find one that caught his attention. However, the train of thought reminded him of an Irish legend.

“We had a short list of names that we liked, but nothing was sticking its neck out,” he said. “And I thought about it, you know, this is our fourth kid. She seems like the pot of gold at the end of our family rainbow.”

The Total Request Live alum asked Siri, 39, for her thoughts on the name Goldie Patricia and she was on board. Goldie’s middle name Patricia is in honor of Carson’s mother, Pattie Daly Caruso, who passed away in 2017.

“I said, ‘What do you think about Goldie Patricia?’ And that was it,” he explained. “It was just one of those things. We knew.”

Carson and Siri welcomed their third daughter on Thursday, March 26. The couple, who wed in 2015, are also the parents of son Jackson, 10, and daughters Etta, 7, and London, 5.

“Daly Planet Exclusive,” Carson wrote via Instagram on Thursday. “Go Go and mom are doing great.”

Carson also acknowledged the doctors and nurses working in New York City amid the widespread coronavirus outbreak.

He added, “The Daly family wants to send a special shout-out to the incredibly brave & selfless medical staff at our hospital in New York and also the many courageous people on the front lines of this dreadful virus.”

Carson revealed that he and the Siriously Delicious author were expecting their fourth child on the Today show in September 2019. “Siri Daly, my incredibly wife, she is gearing up for a big spring because that is when she’s going to give birth to our fourth and newest member of the Daly family,” he told his cohosts at the time. “That’s right, she’s pregnant. I love you. Have a great weekend everybody.”

The pair casually revealed that they were having a baby girl during a cooking segment on the Today show in January. “It’s a girl. That’s better than hitting one of those golf balls that explodes pink,” he said at the time.

Victoria Beckham reveals Brooklyn is STRANDED in the US in lockdown

‘Missing him so much!’ Victoria Beckham reveals eldest son Brooklyn, 21, is STRANDED in the US away from the rest of the family amid the current coronavirus lockdown

  • Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

Brooklyn Beckham is stranded in the US in lockdown amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

The eldest child of David and Victoria had flown back to the states with his girlfriend Nicola Peltz, 25, after he celebrated his 21st birthday in the Cotswolds.

But his mother Victoria, 45, revealed that he was stuck out there as the COVID-19 outbreak continues to affect the planet.

Across the pond: Brooklyn Beckham is stranded in the US in lockdown amid the global coronavirus pandemic

Taking to Instagram to share Brooklyn’s latest post about his Icon Magazine photoshoot, she declared: ‘We are all missing @BrooklynBeckham so much as he remains in lockdown in the US.

‘Seeing this self-portrait he did for @ico_n brought a smile to all our faces this morning!’

Brooklyn was so confident in his photography abilities that he took self-portraits for the shoot.

Appearing on two different covers for the publication he looked at ease with a camera in hand as he posed in front of a mirror in a plain studio.

In one snap, Brooklyn went shirtless to show off his toned torso as he posed in a black velvet jacket and denim jeans.

He completed the look by accessorising with a simple gold pendant, while he wore a single earring for the shoot.

In another snap, Brooklyn spruced up nicely as he wore a white co-ord suit with a light pink shirt that he wore partially unbuttoned.

His chocolate-brown locks were brushed into a tousled style, and he wore light green nail polish to complete the look.

In August last year, Brooklyn was said to have left his colleagues stunned over his ‘lack of basic skills’ during his internship with Rankin.

He embarked upon the dream internship in July after the legendary snapper Rankin was impressed with Brooklyn’s photo of Sir David Attenborough in Africa.

But Brooklyn – who has previously shot campaigns for Burberry and published his own photography book – was said to be struggling with the first days of the intense internship – with colleagues claiming he has to be treated like a complete novice.

A source told The Sun in July: ‘Everyone knew Brooklyn’s work needed fine tuning but no one knew his knowledge of the simplest tasks was so off.

‘Everyone had high hopes for him but it’s not been the most impressive start. He’s lacking in most areas. But he’s trying to make up for it in enthusiasm.’

Meanwhile, in July 2018 Brooklyn quit his New York photography course at the world-renowned Parsons School of Design because he ‘missed’ his family in the UK.

He told pals months before that he wanted to leave – according to the Mirror, but decided to stick it out to the end of term.

An insider told the publication: ‘It sounds as if he was truly homesick and was feeling lonely out there.

‘He adores his family, in the end it was the lure to come back to them all that swung it – and the prospect of a terrific internship.

‘Victoria is absolutely delighted at the news and couldn’t contain herself when it was all coming to plan – to have Brooklyn back under the same roof is a dream come true for her.’

The source said Victoria was ‘thrilled’ at Brooklyn’s return, adding: ‘She was telling pals she couldn’t believe how much she missed him and hated to be separated from him.’

Colton Underwood Reveals He and Cassie Randolph Briefly Broke Up Last Year

Bachelor Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph are currently together and very cute (Cassie’s been taking care of Colton while he recovers from coronavirus), but their relationship has definitely had some ups and downs. In a People excerpt from his new memoir The First Time, Colton explains that he and Cassie briefly broke up last August.

“To put it very frank, after the show, we realized we weren’t communicating as well as we once did,” he writes. “Nobody was forcing us to talk about real things going on, so we let a lot of things build up.”

He adds, “In a weird way, I kind of broke up with myself. I was like, I feel like we need to figure this out and in order to do that, we need space. She agreed. So it was a mutual thing.”

The breakup didn’t last long, because within just a couple days Colton says “it was like, ‘I miss you!” That said, “It was a very real and very emotional breakup, but it was also very good to be real and emotional because it forced us to have conversations and move on. Now, we know the flags to look for. When issues start to creep up, it’s like, let’s go have a conversation. We’re trying to be more transparent and honest and really trust each other.”

And for those of you wondering, yes and engagement is in this couple’s future: “If she were here, she’d nudge me for saying this, but I think an engagement is something we’d both like to see this year. No matter what, I don’t want my life without her. Our relationship hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth it.”
