Princess Beatrices daughter Sienna seen in rare snap on second birthday
King Charles III's niece Princess Beatrice now has a two year old daughter in little Sienna.
The royal's Italian husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi posted a sweet tribute to their toddler on Instagram today, writing next to a rare picture of their little one wearing a sombrero: "Happy Birthday Baby Girl. You bring us so much love and joy every day," alongside three pink heart emojis.
Birthday wishes echoed around the comment section, too, as a handful of fans reached out with: "Happy birthday sweet Sienna! As stylish as mummy already!", What a little cutie HBD Sienna", "Happy birthday Sienna have a lovely day xx", "OMG. That is the sweetest picture!", "Happy Birthday to your sweet baby girl!" and "What an adorable photo!"
This comes after a family friend revealed to HELLO! the origins of Sienna's name, explaining: "[Beatrice, 35, and Edoardo, 39] were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [Sarah Ferguson], and also reflected the golden rust colour of both the Duchess's hair colour and Beatrice's, which the new baby shares."
In a recent OK! piece, biographer Ingrid Seward exclusively told us that just like Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Anne, Princess Royal, Beatrice would take the form of a "great asset as a full-working royal", although she currently works in a consultancy capacity for the software company Afiniti.
"She has all her mother’s charm. She remembers people’s names and is so nice to everyone. In fact she’s a natural with people from all walks of life."
Also, according to the BBC's ex-royal correspondent Jennie Bond, she has "really come into her own" despite various pressures and criticism in recent times.
"We have a relatable princess. Beatrice is a stepmother, who talks publicly about her dyslexia and who has more recently had to deal with the trauma of her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, having breast cancer. It makes her much more accessible. She seems to be universally liked," she said, while also describing Beatrice as "very sensitive, especially about her father".
"She hasn’t had an easy time with her parents so often at the centre of scandals or criticism and, of course, recently with her mother suffering from breast cancer. Remarkably, though, they remain a close-knit, mutually supportive family, and both she and Eugenie appear to be well adjusted, happy young women."
Meanwhile, with the warring brothers Prince William and Prince Harry among her cousins, brand and culture expert Nick Ede believes Beatrice could play a significant role in reinstating amicability between them.
"Beatrice is a great role model for others who experience family troubles. She’s dealt with a lot of turbulence in her life, including a broken home and a father – the Duke of York – who’s been quite controversial," he noted. "She appears to have weathered those storms very well."
