Made In Chelsea’s Tabitha Willett hits back after being slammed for travelling to country house from London amid coronavirus lockdown

Made In Chelsea star Tabitha Willett has hit back at “rude” people after receiving backlash for travelling from London to Henley-on-Thames during the current coronavirus lockdown.

The reality star complained that she felt “claustrophobic” in London, so traveled to Henley via car with her daughter and fiancé.

The current government guidelines have warned against all nonessential travel until at least April 15, with walks outside to get food or exercise only being permitted.

The 28-year-old, who is a mother to eight-month-old daughter Ottilie with fiancé Fraser Carruthers, took to Instagram to hit back at the backlash.

“So this morning we bit the bullet and left London. It was getting a little bit claustrophobic in the flat because we don't have any outside space so we're here in Henley,” she explained.

The TV star then insisted that she didn’t see anything wrong with making the journey, as they didn’t come into contact with anyone en-route.

Tabitha told fans on social media: “I just wanted to address the fact we're not in London anymore as I've gotten some messages from people being a bit rude, saying that I shouldn't have been travelling, but this is actually our country house so there's no one here.

“This was always going to be an option. We didn't take public transport, we took a car so we didn't come into contact with anybody.

“The walk I took earlier was to the end of the driveway.”

She added: “It's been advised that everybody takes one form or exercise a day so there's nothing wrong with what I'm doing.

“I hope everyone is staying sane and healthy at this time and doing what they can do, safely. Sending mine and Ottilie's love to everybody too.”

Tabitha first appeared on Made In Chelsea in 2018 when the cast headed to Croatia for the summer.

Tabitha got engaged to nightclub mogul Fraser in November 2019 after he popped the question on holiday in Miami.

She later left Made In Chelsea after welcoming her first child into the world.
