This likely isn’t the way Ewan McGregor wanted to celebrate his birthday.
The “Doctor Sleep” star — who turned 49 on Tuesday — had his joyride cut short when his off-road Volkswagen buggy broke down in the middle of the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica, Calif.
McGregor was photographed attempting to roll the vehicle to the side of the road, appearing to hold up traffic in the process.
Earlier this week, McGregor was seen taking his Volkswagen Westfalia Camper for a spin, sans car trouble.
Despite the slight setback, McGregor appeared to have a memorable birthday, with 24-year-old daughter Clara sharing a throwback snap on Instagram.
McGregor shares Clara and three other daughters — Esther, 18, Jayman, 18, and Anouk, 9 — with ex Eve Mavrakis. He is currently dating his “Fargo” co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
