Academy Of Country Music Awards Announce New September Air Date
The Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions have announced that the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards will be aired on the CBS Television Network on September 16.
The organizers said the event, which honors the biggest names and emerging talent in the country music industry, will stream live and on demand on CBS All Access.
Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and 15-time ACM Award winner Keith Urban is set to host the event for the first time.
The ceremony, which was originally scheduled to be held on April 5 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, has been moved to a new date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACM Awards said on March 11 that it was “closely monitoring the situation along with the MGM team, who are in continuous contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Southern Nevada Health District, and other agencies and experts for guidance.”
The same day, they announced the first round of performers, including Urban, Miranda Lambert, Lindsay Ell and Ashley McBryde. The postponement was announced later that week.
Details about the venue for the annual awards function and list of performers will be available soon, the organizers said.
Maren Morris, Dan + Shay, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Old Dominion, Justin Bieber, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Kacey Musgraves and producer Dann Huff have earned three or more nominations this year.
The five entertainer of the year nominees are Church, Combs, Rhett, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood.
